Low pressure at one tap
A blocked aerator, showerhead, isolation valve or flexible connection can restrict flow at a single fixture. If you are comfortable doing so, clean visible debris from the outlet and check that the nearby valve has not been partly closed. Do not force old fittings.
Low pressure throughout the property
Possible causes include a supply issue, a partially closed main valve, a concealed leak, damaged pipework, a pressure-limiting device or a problem with a pump or storage system. Ask whether neighbours are affected before assuming the fault is inside your property.
Why is hot water pressure lower?
Hot and cold supplies can behave differently because of system components, valves, filters or restrictions near the hot water unit. A plumber can assess the installation and determine whether the issue is the fixture, the pipework or the system.
When should I arrange an inspection?
Arrange help if pressure changed suddenly, multiple fixtures are affected, there is noise or leaking, or cleaning an outlet did not help. Avoid unapproved modifications that could damage the system or create a compliance issue.
